Our Story
In 2014, the dream of SwimTikes took its first breath of life, rooted in over 20 years of industry experience and a heartfelt commitment to early childhood aquatic education.
Our founder Liz Corr, envisioned a swim school where children under 10 years could not only learn to swim but thrive in a nurturing environment that emphasises water safety and personal exploration, specializing in the 0-5 years age group.
This vision blossomed during maternity leave, with the support of a loving family and community, transforming her home into a haven for budding swimmers.
SwimTikes is more than a business; it's a vibrant swimming family that grows together, celebrating every splash and giggle along the way.
Our Mission
At Swimtikes, our mission is to empower the youngest swimmers with an understanding of being safer in and around the water, confidence, skill, and a love for water that extends beyond lessons.
We believe in nurturing a strong foundation in water safety, encouraging our tikelets to explore their aquatic surroundings with curiosity and joy.
Our curriculum is designed to ensure maximum practice time in a supportive environment, fostering not just swimmers, but confident, safer, stronger individuals.

Our small class sizes, personalised attention, and family-friendly policies are just the beginning. We take pride in our water awareness programs, tight-knit community, and our celebration of the small achievements. Our salt-based, heated pool and Ozone water purification system ensures a comfortable learning environment for our tikelets. We offer multiple free programs and add-ons from providing extra support for families with twins to facilitating community connections and supporting local causes, all with our highly trained and award winning team.

Our Founder
At 18, flipping burgers over Summer in a waterpark with a swim school attached, I never imagined how that job would shape my future. Fast forward to 2014, Swimtikes was born from a vision to create a nurturing aquatic space for little ones, combining my industry experience with a passion for water safety and learning through exploration.
The leap to start Swimtikes came during maternity leave, supported by my family and friends, turning our home into a boutique swim school. It's become so much more than teaching swimming and water safety lessons. It's allowed me to build an extended swimming family, give back to our local community and global aquatics industry, and to be a part of so many important milestones and events in our tikelets' lives.
Swimtikes is a dream realised, a place where every child and family becomes part of our special swimming family. I'm grateful for this journey, our families that have joined us over the last 10 years. the connections made locally with other small businesses and charities, and around the world within the aquatics industry. I can't wait to see what we achieve together in the next 10 years!

The little things
We love our little swimming family, and love to give back to them in ways that also benefit the local community. Over the years we have been lucky enough to be apart of supporting many local and personal causes close to our families, many annually. These include;

Jake Garrett Foundation - supports families financially and emotionally after the loss of a child.

Bear Cottage - one of only two children's hospices in Australia.

Bow4Lailah - a local family that lost Lailah to HLH (hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis) and is still fighting to make their son better from the same disease.

Caboolture Community Action - a volunteer group that helps local families in need.

PA Research Foundation - funds world-class research into deadly and debilitating disease.

Kids Alive and Poolwerx joint Learn to Swim Week- offering free swimming lessons to the community.

National SwimSAFER Week- promoting other little practiced water skills in unfamiliar situations.
