What we're not...

There are many things that businesses claim to be from the first, the fastest, the biggest, the cheapest, the best and the one can that can do it all, to name a few. It can be very hard to look through all the claims and find the right business based on values, facilities and opportunities that suit your individual needs. That's why we thought we'd take the opportunity to share with you what we're not.

We're not the biggest

Some of the biggest frustrations we hear from new inquiries is that we can't fit them into a highly sought after time/day, or that we can't fit all three of their children of varying ages and abilities in at the same time, that we don't have enough classes on offer at once or that it's not always easy to change classes time/days at the drop of a hat to a new ideal time/day.

We hear you and we agree with you! It can be extremely hard to work in your schedules and multiple children and we know how much easier life can be when you can get the exact time and day you want.

Here's the thing though.... That's not us. We don't have goals to be the biggest, we don't want to have 5 or 6 or more classes on at a time. There is a place for larger centers and they have many benefits and offer great programs. However that format doesn't suit our program, our facility, the learning environment we want to teach in, nor our customer base.

One of the best things about our program that our current families love, is the intimate boutique environment where friendships are made in and out of the pool, where everyone (including other swimming families) know your name and the names of your children and a quieter less distracting learning environment takes place.

We're not a one-stop-shop

We don't claim to cover all things swimming, and nor will we try to. We are amazing at teaching newborns to 8 years old in a close-knit boutique environment. It is truly what we do best, and we have no plans to change that focus. We personally want to be the best we can be in our chosen area, then try and cover all things water related and not do any of them well.

We're not a production factory

We wholeheartedly believe that each and every child will go through their learning to swim journey in their own way and at their own pace. They will have periods where they do not progress at a consistent pace and they will have periods where they leap head in major steps. There may be times when it feels like the other children in the class are progressing faster, or that you're child is progressing faster than their peers.

We don't care that a child is not the fastest, the most technically refined or perfect in everything they do. We are teaching infants to 8 year olds that are still growing into their bodies and themselves as people who are trying to gain an understanding of how to efficiently move through the water in a safer manner, let alone the world around them.

The beauty of our small classes and our flexible program is that we can cater to each child as needed on a personal level and develop strong trusting bonds with each of them, and their families.

We're not the cheapest

The children in our area are extremely fortunate to be surrounded by so many high quality programs that between us all, we are able to cater to a wide range of needs, including differing financial situations and budgets.

As a consumer we openly encourage you to 'shop around' and find the program that best suits your family's needs. At the end of the day you need your children in the best possible program for them individually that you can accommodate in the family budget.

When developing our program we made a conscious decision to keep our class numbers small, our program quality high and to invest in top of the line infrastructure for the benefit of our tikelets, their families and our staff. To do that and cover the same operating costs of other operators, that meant we had to price our lessons accordingly.

We don't offer a free baby program

One doesn't walk into a Michelin Star restaurant and ask for a free meal to see if they like the food. Nor does one ask for a free stay at a reputable hotel, the latest brand name shoes to walk around in for a week or receive 10 weeks free of specialist appointments. We don't see our program as any different to any other reputable product or service.

We personally feel to offer a free baby program at this stage would under value not only the quality of our program, but most importantly the value of our staff. Our aquatic educators all undergo a minimum of 10 weeks initial training in our program and must hold industry relevant specialist qualifications to work with infants and toddlers. They are also constantly building on their skill set by staying up to date with the latest methods and research, and attend state, national and international workshops and conferences.

By offering their expertise for free, we personally feel that we aren't showing our families or our staff how much we value our staff's commitment to us, the industry, their own personal growth and learning, but most importantly to the tikelets they teach.

Our staff are the face, backbone and heart of our business. They are our most precious asset and deserve to be respected as such.

We're not for everyone

And that's perfectly ok! We are comfortable in the fact that we can't be all things to everyone and still deliver the way that we do. We wouldn't have the positive reputation that we do if we weren't true to ourselves and focused on what we do best.

While we might not be the perfect fit for you, we will always endeavor to do our best to assist you in finding a program that suits your needs by recommending other local programs that offer what you're after.

Ultimately our goal at the end of day is to get as many children as possible safer around the water.
